- From Vancouver take Highway 14 East to Highway 141, then go North to Trout Lake WA. Peterson Prairie Cabin is located 7 miles from Trout Lake, Washington, along Forest Road 24. At Trout Lake go 4 miles past the Mt. Adams Ranger Station at the end of Highway 141. Continue west on Forest Road 24 for 2.5 miles, the site will be on your left.

- $100 per night (Limit: 6 people).

- Road to cabin is closed to wheeled vehicles December through April; winter access is 2.5 miles by ski, snowshoe, or snowmobile from Atkisson Sno-Park with a Washington Sno-Park permit. No potable water October through mid-June. Pets and camping at the cabin are prohibited; non-smoking facility.

Meticulously restored cabin on the Mt. Adams Ranger District under Douglas fir and huckleberry; propane lights and range plus wood-stove insert; sleeps six; site of the salvaged Peterson cabin.
Notable Events
- 1890A deteriorated log cabin was erected by homesteader John Peters in 1890, and abandoned after his first winter at the site; the Forest Service used the old Peters cabin as one of their first ranger stations in the area. fs.usda.gov
