- 2001Placer County's Agricultural Marketing Program, later carried under the PlacerGROWN brand, was first instituted in 2001. placer.ca.gov
- 2004The Farm and Barn Tour began in 2004, with six farms and about 700 visitors; it now hosts over 2,000 visitors for the one-day event each October. placer.ca.gov
- 2007The annual Placer Farm & Barn Tour drew an average of 350 visitors per farm venue, with actual counts ranging from 197 to 674. placer.ca.gov
- 2009The Farm & Barn Tour was discontinued for 2009; the public and members of the ag community made it clear that it was the most important local event to educate the public and build support for local agriculture. ucanr.edu
