On Founder’s Day, Georgetown’s Main Street is closed and traffic is diverted to other streets. The 2026 edition was set for Sunday, September 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program filled the closed street with food and vendor booths, the vendors described as craft, artisan, and public interest. There was a Kidz Zone for children, and the Georgetown stamp mill was to be working.

The music was spread among the town’s own rooms. The Georgetown Hotel scheduled Fornis at 10 a.m. and the Georgetown Boys from 4 to 7 p.m. Jack & Dave were to play the Miner’s Club at 2 p.m. The VFW Post offered adult beverages along with food. A horseshoes competition, with its registration, was set for the corner lot of Wentworth and Orleans Street.

The parade was to begin at noon along Main Street. It took floats, groups, and anyone who signed up with what the Rotary club called “just your community spirit.” Rod Hedlund was Grand Marshal for 2026. The Georgetown Divide Rotary Club sponsors the event, and its announcement called it “a day of heritage and community.”

The club’s own event page keeps a record of the 2018 edition. That year Founder’s Day was held September 23, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and was free. Lacey Stiles was listed as the contact. The page promised local artists, vendors, food, kid events, and “Music, Margaritas and hamburgers.” The parade started at 12:00, the same hour as in 2026, and a Kawasaki Mule was raffled off at 12:30.
