- Getting there
- From Afton, WY, take Highway 89 north approximately 31 miles to Alpine, WY. At Alpine, turn right (south) onto Greys River Road (Forest Road 10138) and drive about 26 miles to Box Y Guest Lodge turnoff. Turn right (west), cross the Greys River Bridge, and then travel 1/4 mile. The cabin is located on the left (south).

- Check in time is 2 pm, Check out time is 11 am. Spring and fall access is not guaranteed and depends on weather and road conditions. Winter access is by snowmobile only on a groomed trail.

Fill out and return the completed condition report to the Greys River Ranger District following your stay.

The historic Meadows Guard Station is a quiet hideaway beneath tall pines, where deer graze in the open meadow pasture nearby. Located 29 miles from Alpine, the cabin allows horses and provides corrals. Built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), the cabin presents a year-round backcountry playground for activities like horseback riding, fishing, off-road vehicle riding.
