Eagar Days starts at the water. At eight in the morning, an hour before the rest of the day opens, the fishing tournament begins on Cowpuncher Pond, which lies next to Ramsey Park with a walking path around it. For the 2024 tournament the town preferred early registration but also took entries at 8 a.m. on the morning of the event.

At nine the park takes over. The 2026 edition was held on Saturday, June 20, at Ramsey Park, 199 N Butler Street, and ran until five. Its program listed food and craft vendors, games and activities through the day, music, a photo booth, a donut eating contest, the Show & Shine Car Show, and a skate and scooter competition. Awards closed the day. Ramsey Park has a skate park and a splash pad. The 2024 edition was billed as a free event.

The Town of Eagar runs the day. Town Clerk Jessica Vaughan oversees the town’s calendar of events, and questions about Eagar Days go to her. She calls it “a thank you to our citizens; thank you for living here, thank you for being a part of the community.” Business View Magazine puts the population at about 5,000 and the elevation at roughly 7,000 feet. The town lies in southern Apache County at the foot of the White Mountains, just north of Apache National Forest. According to the magazine, Eagar grew on ranching, farming, and timber. The town manager, Brannon Eagar, is the great-great-grandson of one of three brothers who settled the south end of the valley.

The sources count the years differently. The listing for May 25, 2024, called that edition “Our 37th Annual Eagar Days.” Business View, in a profile dated September 30, 2026, describes the event as “now in its 38th year.” The date has also moved. The 2024 edition was held in late May, and the 2026 edition on June 20. The same profile says that in recent years the town added the fishing tournament, held at Cowpuncher Pond, which it calls newly developed.
