Sundays on Young Avenue

On the second and last Sundays from May through September, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., vendors set out their wares on the grounds of the J.C. White House at 720 East Young Avenue. The 1903 house now holds the Museum of North Idaho. It stands in McEuen Park, off the Centennial Trail and next to Tubbs Hill, and the organizers point out that shoppers are outdoors there and may bring a dog.

The vendor count depends on who is counting. The market’s website says over 60. The Coeur d’Alene visitors bureau lists 55 or more. The organizers’ own market-day posts in 2026 say “over 50+.” The tables run to vintage and antiques, local handmade goods, and food. The website describes new and vintage furniture, home wares and decor, along with “ceramicists, apothecary re-furbishers, wood workers, and everything in between.” It also describes vintage fashion beside newer one-of-a-kind pieces, and names a vintage bag, jewelry, and “the perfect winter coat” among the finds. Vendors the market has listed include Mellowdaze Vintage, Radiant Retro, Spellbound Botanicals, Lucid Lavender Herbs, MoonBijou Handmade, Runestone Co., Little Roamer Studio, and The Cookie Pin. Pipers Threads, a children’s boutique, invited shoppers to the first market of 2026, which fell on Mother’s Day. On the food side the site names local coffee, breweries, wineries, and pastry chefs, with handmade desserts, specialty teas, and small-batch spirits.

Two sets and a dog on the lawn

Music plays over the rows on market days. The published 2025 schedule gave each date two local acts, one from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and another from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. That season’s bill included Mason Van Stone, Bigger Than Us Duo, Tucker James Music, Mystic Mountain, Carson Floyd, Thomas Mudrick, and Alexis Carpenter. The market’s video page shows Bailey Baker playing, a face and body painting station, and games and snack stands.

The organizers post the same few rules on the morning of each market. There is no smoking on the grounds, and alcohol must stay on the premises. Dogs are welcome, in their words, “as long as they are the goodest boys and girls.” The group calls itself “a community based collective.” It recommends a $5 entrance fee and gives a portion of each market’s proceeds to organizations and charities, local and global. A 2025 events listing for the October market gave the cost as free.

From Wallace Avenue to the White House

Nicole Robitaille, who lists CDA Flea among her work, gives the origin. “The idea of having a local Flea Market in Coeur d’Alene stemmed from our tight-knit lake town community,” she writes. “Many of have seen how impactful Flea Markets can be for small businesses. We decided we wanted to create an event to showcase all of the amazing artists and makers in this region.”

The first home was the Roosevelt Inn at 105 East Wallace Avenue. In August 2020 the Coeur d’Alene Press reported that the market would be held there on the last Sunday of every month through October, with local vendors, food, and live music. The market’s video page includes footage from July 2021. By 2023 the date had moved to the second Sunday. The Press reported an opening on August 13 of that year with more than 40 vendors. A Post Falls tourism listing from the Roosevelt Inn years mentions “a bright orange VW photo-booth bus out front.”

The museum’s new building made the next move possible. On April 18, 2025, the Museum of North Idaho cut the ribbon on its facility in the former J.C. White House. Board president Stephen Towles wrote that the work took six years “from the time the idea became a vision to opening our doors” and turned out to be “about a $3,000,000 project.” The museum’s spring 2025 newsletter announced that the flea market would be held there starting in May, with over 60 vendors. That year the market ran on second Sundays and closed its season on October 12. By the organizers’ count, 2025 was the market’s sixth outdoor season. A holiday edition, the Frost Faire, followed on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Boys & Girls Club of Kootenai County.

For 2026 the organizers announced “Last Sundays are back,” which gave the season ten market days. The first was May 10 and the others followed through the summer. A visitors bureau post that May described the market as running through October. The organizers named Sunday, September 27, as “our last outdoor market of the 2026 season,” and that week they suggested shoppers “check out some vintage for Halloween costume inspiration.”
