Inside the main entrance of the South Expo Building at Expo Idaho, the show floor plan marks a Food & Drink section before the numbered booths begin. Past it, on the market’s weekends, hundreds of vendor booths fill the hall. They hold stuffed toys, shabby chic, country furniture, porcelain, china ware, estate jewelry, ephemera, military items, glass, and home décor. The listings carry a motto, “Out with the old…in with the older!”, and invite shoppers to come and say, “I found something.”
The spaces run ten feet by ten. More than a hundred of them are laid out in rows on the floor plan, among the restrooms, a drive-in door, and the show office. Visit Boise’s listing for the November 2025 market promised vintage items, collectibles, antiques, “nostalgia on every aisle,” and one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts “for that person who has everything.” The flyer bars pornography, pets, guns, and helium balloons from the hall and adds, “No exceptions!”
Six weekends at the fairgrounds
Expo Idaho is the fairgrounds at the intersection of Glenwood Street and Chinden Boulevard in Garden City. The market keeps the same hours each weekend: Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 2026-2027 season opens October 17-18, 2026. It continues on November 7-8, January 2-3, January 30-31, February 27-28, and March 27-28, 2027.
The sources count the weekends differently. The market’s own website and its Instagram profile say it is held five times a year. The 2025-2026 flyer listed five weekends, from October 18-19 to March 28-29. The announcement for 2026-2027 says “Held six times this year,” and the website’s schedule lists six.
Tickets are sold only at the door: $3 for adults, $2 for seniors (“62 and better,” in an earlier Expo Idaho listing), and free for children 12 and under. When the new season was announced in September 2026, the organizers warned that there were no online ticket sales, “so don’t get fooled by unscrupulous actors.” The market is run by Spectra Productions, which keeps a post office box in Eagle. A Spectra staff member named Deana is the contact for anyone who wants a booth.
“The valley’s largest garage sale”
The dossier records no founding date for the market. It was already running by March 29, 2008. That day the Idaho Press listed it at Expo Idaho from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission was $2 for adults and $1 for seniors, with children 12 and under free. The same weekend, a Holistic Health Fair of 100 practitioners shared the fairgrounds.
In February 2013, the Meridian Press called the market “the valley’s largest garage sale, conveniently located indoors.” Admission was still $2, and Saturday still ran until 6. In February 2020, a community calendar placed it at Expo Idaho on the weekend of the Treasure Valley Roller Derby Valentine Special. In February 2024, CBS2 noted that it shared the grounds with the Idaho Dream Wedding Expo. The station called it “a great time to snag unique items from all over Idaho.”
Since then, Saturday closing has moved up to 5 p.m. and admission has gone to $3. An earlier Expo Idaho listing put it this way: “You never know what you’re going to find at the flea market, but one thing’s for certain, something will find you. Bring home a new, old thing to love.”
