Getting there: Off Highway 141 near the Nevada Creek Reservoir north of Avon and south of Helmville; head east on FR #296 approximately 7 miles to the signed cabin turnoff, staying on the Nevada Creek Road through private ground for the first several miles.
Fees: $45 per night for a single unit.
Access: The USFS page states potable water is not available at this site.
Walk-in or reserve: Visitors unlock the gate with the code for the combination lock provided with the reservation and drive the final few hundred yards to the cabin.

This historic one room log cabin is located on National Forest lands along the upper reaches of Nevada Creek, between Avon and Helmville, MT. Thick forests, steep slopes, and wide open ridges define the landscape and visitors can access the adjacent road-less area with trails leading directly from the cabin to multiple destinations, including the Continental Divide.
