On Saturday, September 12, 2026, the Town of Mead closed Martin Avenue from 3rd Street to Main Street, Main Street from Palmer Avenue to Martin, and Fairbairn Avenue in front of the Community Center, and gave the blocks around Mead Town Park to Community Day. The park shares its address, 441 Third Street, with Town Hall. It has a gazebo, a shelter, picnic tables, a playground, and restrooms. Visitors parked at the Community Center and the Main Street lot beside it. The 2026 edition ran from 4 to 9:30 p.m., and admission was free.

Local businesses and community groups set up vendor booths and sold until 8. Food trucks served through the evening, and guests sat with friends in a beverage garden. Others rode a zipline, bounced on a bungee trampoline, or tried their balance inside a Water Walker Ball. The Mead Area Chamber of Commerce, co-host with the Town, ran a cornhole area for casual play, where donations to the Chamber were welcome but not required.

d’Lovelies opened the music. The Longmont band blends vintage jazz, country, rock and roll, and harmony-driven Americana, and it released its debut album, Great Horizon, in 2025. The Town’s event page gave 5:30 p.m. as the start of live music. The Town’s social media listings put d’Lovelies on at 5. At 8 p.m. Colby Acuff took the Town Park stage on his Handmade Horsepower Tour. The Town’s page credits him with “blue-collar roots” and “a modern take on classic outlaw country,” and says he has shared stages with Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, Jon Pardi, and Whiskey Myers, among others. The night closed with fireworks over Town Park, which the Town counts among Mead’s favorite traditions.

The Chamber’s 2026 calendar places Community Day between Unity in the Community on August 28 and Trick or Treat Street on October 31. Four days after the event, the Town posted its thanks to the Chamber and to Grandview Church, United Power, the St. Vrain Sanitation District, Boulder Scientific Company, and the Mead High School Football team. On the Town’s Facebook page, the homecoming parade on Friday, October 2, 2026, was listed at 4:30 p.m. at 441 3rd Street under the name “Community Day/Homecoming Parade.”
