- White Domes Road (also called Mouse's Tank Road). The turn off is ~3.5 miles from both the West and East entrances to the park.

- Access
- Many of the park's trails are closed annually May 15 - September 30. The Trails include: White Domes Loop, Fire Wave/Seven Wonders Loop/Pastel Canyon/Pink Canyon, Pinnacles Loop, Propect Trail, Arrowhead Trail, Natural Arch Trail (excluding Arch Rock), and Charlie's Spring.

World-renowned for its 40,000 acres of bright red Aztec sandstone outcrops nestled in gray and tan limestone, Valley of Fire State Park contains ancient, petrified trees and petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years.

- 1890sMouse's Tank is named for Mouse, a fugitive Paiute who evaded the law for some time in the 1890s; it is believed he was able to do so by using the seasonal water in the tank. reviewjournal.com
- 1912A rough road through the area connected Salt Lake City and Los Angeles and let people travel through what became Valley of Fire. parks.nv.gov
- 1933The Civilian Conservation Corps built the first facilities and campgrounds. parks.nv.gov

- The most obvious evidence of occupation is the petroglyphs carved into the rocks by the Basketmaker culture about 2,500 years ago, followed later by the Early Pueblo culture. parks.nv.gov
