Getting there
At Kooskia, one branch heads south on Idaho 13 through the Camas Prairie to Grangeville; the other continues east on U.S. 12 along the Middle Fork Clearwater and Lochsa rivers to Lolo Pass Visitor Center.

Expect fees at various campsites and attractions along the byway.
Access
Winding, two-lane, paved roads with occasional passing lanes and slow vehicle turnouts. Winter driving conditions may include black ice in the canyons and snow-covered roads at higher elevations. Full services in Lewiston, Orofino, Kamiah, Kooskia and Grangeville; partial services in Stites, Syringa, Lowell and Powell. Motorcycle Route: Yes.
